Collaborative Pianists

World-class training and performances

Varna International Music Academy (VIMA) offers a unique summer program for pianists, offering two and four-week options for collaborative pianists. Learn from master opera coaches and chamber instrumental pianists. The program will take place in the beautiful Veneto region of Northern Italy.

Each student, admitted into the collaborative pianist program, will be assigned an act of opera, movement from oratorio or portion of vocal / instrumental recital to rehearse with the academy participants, under the supervision of the master pianists on faculty. Participants in this program will also receive a 60-minute individual lesson / coaching per week with the master opera coaches on faculty and participate in all the masterclasses that the academy offers, including: Italian language lessons, masterclass in choreography, movement, stage techniques, stage combat, etc.

Collaborative Pianist Exclusions:

  • Lodging on campus in student housing (double occupancy): $290 per week (7 nights) - Optional (participants may make their own lodging arrangements)
  • Single occupancy: $450 per week (7 nights)
  • Participants are responsible for their own meals and ground transportation.
  • We encourage you to connect with other participants to make arrangement for shared rides during the program. Varna International will facilitate contact between participants to aid in your communication.

Collaborative Pianist Exclusions:

  • 3-star hotel lodging (7-nights lodging in double occupancy), ground transportation (from the hotel to the conservatory once daily and to concerts), and two meals daily (breakfast and dinner): $890 per week. (Total: $1780 for 2-weeks lodging, transportation, two meals a day; $2670 for 3-weeks lodging, transportation, two meals a day; $3560 for 4-weeks lodging, transportation, two meals a day.)
  • 4-star hotel lodging (7-nights lodging in double occupancy), ground transportation (from the hotel to the conservatory once daily and to concerts), and two meals daily (breakfast and dinner): $1090 per week. (Total: $2180 for 2-weeks lodging, transportation, two meals a day; $3270 for 3-weeks lodging, transportation, two meals a day; $4360 for 4-weeks lodging, transportation, two meals a day.)
