Bulgarian Traditional Dinner, Cheverme

Half-Day Excursion to Balchik

About 45 minutes from Varna, Balchik is a scenic town with a long and interesting history. It is most famous for the summer palace of the former Romanian queen, Maria, and the adjacent botanical gardens—the biggest and most diverse in the Balkans.

Your fee for this trip covers ground transportation, a guided tour of Balchik, entrance fee to the summer palace and gardens, and a delicious three-course lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Black Sea.

Full Day Trip to Nessebar

A two-hour ride south of Varna takes you to this famed World Heritage site where a virtual living museum containing 3,000 years of history awaits. Strolling along its cobblestone streets, you will see the ruins of several Byzantine churches alongside art galleries and artist colonies. A professional guide will take you on a walking tour of it all, including St. Stephen’s Church and its famous, ancient murals. We will also visit the artists' colonies--an excellent place to shop for souvenirs and other memorabilia. During your free time you can also choose to visit the Archaeological Museum (entrance fee not included). A three-course traditional lunch is included at a restaurant overlooking the Black Sea.

Evening Wine and Cheese Tasting in “Old Varna”

This optional activity includes a visit to the “Old Varna Museum” which houses a unique selection of archival photos and artifacts of the city of Varna. The museum and winery are located in the 112 year old house with an authentic atmosphere.
