Kolio Plachkov is born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and he has graduated from The Juilliard School and Rice University. He is currently the Associate Principal/3rd Horn of the Colorado Symphony and is the adjunct professor of horn at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Mr Plachkov's solo and chamber music performances have been broadcasted multiple times on NPR, CPR, Bulgarian National Radio and Television. Kolio has been featured as a soloist with, the Bakersfield Symphony, The New Symphony Orchestra, Idyllwild Arts Orchestra, The Broadway Bach Ensemble, Colorado Chambers Players, and the Englewood Arts Concert Series. Kolio has appeared with orchestras, such as the Boston Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Dallas Symphony, Houston Symphony, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and is a member of the International Horn Society, where he often performs at the Horn Symposiums in the USA.
