Matthew Waid is a classically trained bass player. He attended SCGSAH '02 as a high schooler and the Cleveland Institute of Music in Cleveland, OH where he received a BM '06 and MM '07 in Double Bass Performance. He has performed with many orchestras in the Southeastern US including: Asheville Symphony, Spartanburg Philharmonic, Hendersonville Symphony, Greenville Symphony, SC Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony, Hilton Head, Savannah Philharmonic, Roanoke Symphony, and Augusta Symphony among many others. He is also currently the Personnel Manager and Orchestra Librarian with the Hendersonville Symphony, a position he has held for 3 years, as well as serving as Principal Bass with the Hendersonville Symphony for 13 years. He currently resides in Simpsonville, SC with his incredible wife and two children.
