MICHELE CHIAPPERINO was born in Milan, Italy and studied under the guidance of his father. He then perfected his skills with Maurice Gendron in Paris and Salzburg performing at a very young age at the Festival Siegfried Palm, Trio di Trieste, Rocco Filippini in Cremona and Franco Maggio Ormezowskj with whom he attended the advanced specialization courses at the National Academy of S. Cecilia, graduating with top grades. Winner of the First Cello competition at the Accademia Nazionale di Sants Cecilia, in this role he performs in major opera-symphonic institutions and Italian orchestras, including the RAI of Turin, the Teatro S.Carlo of Naples, the Abruzzo Symphony Orchestra and Rome Opera House. He also performs as a soloist, holding concerts in Italy and abroad as a duo, trio, quartet and other chamber ensembles, playing alongside prestigious concert artists. He has recorded for ASV (Puccini and Catalani for string quartet), the DYNAMIC (Hindemith's monograph), BONGIOVANNI, AMADEUS (complete works by Shostakovich for trio), Rai, Vatican Radio and other record companies. With the "Ars Trio di Roma", he performed regularly in Italian and foreign concert seasons. Following winning the competition, he taught cello at the conservatories of Reggio Calabria, Campobasso, L'aquila and Latina.
