Rodolfo La Banca

Rodolfo La Banca obtained his diploma in Clarinet in 2000 at the Conservatory of Music in Cosenza under the guidance of Maestro V. Buonomano. In 2002 he obtained a degree in DAMS-musicology, discussing a thesis on, "The dramaturgy of Igor Stravinsky's Historie Du Soldat." Rodolfo specializes in the practice of historical performance at the Conservatoire Royal in Bruxelle. Later qualifying for teaching, he has held master classes at prestigious universities all over the world in countries such as Sweden, Malta, China, Argentina, and the USA. He collaborates with prestigious orchestras and chamber groups dedicated to the performance of music with original instruments. Rodolfo performed the world premiere of "Gran Partita" by W.A. Mozart in Brazil, using historical instruments. As the founder of the chamber trio Trio Seikilos, a trio that focuses on playing original repertoire on original instruments, he has performed, in Italy and abroad, the complete works of Beethoven written for such a group. Rodolfo regularly lectures on the history of the clarinet at the Tchaikovsky Institute of High Musical Education in Nocera Terinese. Additionally, he occasionally lectures on the ancient performance practices at the Italian Academy of Clarinet and at the University of Clarinet in Camerino. Rodolfo is the current Professor and head of the early development at the Licinio Refice Conservatory of Music in Frosinone. Furthermore, he is an adjunct Professor in Parma's Conservatory.
