Stefan Vrachev is a Bulgarian pianist with an extensive career as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborator. He began studying piano at the age of six and completed his professional training in Plovdiv, before earning a Master’s degree in Piano Performance from the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in Sofia. He studied with the distinguished piano pedagogues Prof. Julia and Prof. Konstantin Ganev. Since 1989, Vrachev has been a solo pianist with the Sofia State Philharmonic. He is a prizewinner of numerous national and international competitions, including the Svetoslav Obretenov National Piano Competition, the Liszt–Bartók National Competition, and the Maria Callas International Competition in Athens, where he received a Silver Medal and the Audience Prize. Vrachev has maintained an active international concert career from an early age, giving his first solo recital at thirteen. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras and performed in recital and chamber settings across Europe, North America, and Asia. Alongside his solo and orchestral work, he has a strong commitment to chamber music and has collaborated with distinguished instrumentalists and vocalists in a wide range of ensemble projects. In recent years, Stefan Vrachev has expanded his artistic focus to include contemporary popular genres and electronic music. His work in this field includes original compositions and arrangements created primarily with electronic musical instruments, reflecting his interest in cross-genre exploration and new sound worlds.
