Stephanie Whitson is in her 30th year as a member of the South Carolina Philharmonic and is an active teacher and freelance performer. She studied at the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific with Dr Don DaGrade and received her Master of Music from the University of Wisconsin -- Madison where she studied with Richard Lottridge. Ms. Whitson has also been co-principal Bassoon with the Lodi Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Carolina Chamber Players. She has been Instructor of Bassoon at Columbia College, Adjunct Instructor of Bassoon at Claflin University and Interim Instructor of Bassoon at USC - Columbia. In '90 she was the woodwind finalist in the UOP Outstanding Musician Competition and was a recipient of the Music Faculty Fellowship at UWMadison in '92. Ms. Whitson resides in Columbia, SC.
