Canadian-American performer Tanya C. Roberts has captivated audiences worldwide as a dynamic actor, classical crossover soprano, and cruise entertainer. Her globe-trotting career spans over 80 roles in opera, operetta, and musical theatre, with performances ranging from Baroque to Broadway. Tanya has sung with leading companies such as The Ohio Light Opera, Edmonton Opera, Lyrique en Mer, Utah Festival Opera, Detroit Opera, Teatro Grattacielo, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Favorite roles include Anna (The King and I), Lilli (Kiss Me, Kate), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), and the title role in Countess Maritza. Tanya is also a seasoned cruise headliner and Cruise Director, having performed and led entertainment programs across all seven continents with Azamara, Explora, Celebrity, Viking, and American Cruise Lines. Her signature shows--Hostess with the Mostess and A Few of My Favorite Things--have delighted international audiences in over 40 countries. Tanya holds a BMus in Vocal Performance and MMus in Solo Song from McGill University and has trained at The Lee Strasberg Institute, Stella Adler Studio, The Barrow Group, and The Growing Studio. Her artistic development has been supported by The Banff Centre, NYFA, Opera NUOVA, and others. Her recordings can be heard on Albany Records and Operetta Archives, with DVD releases forthcoming. Upcoming projects include a classical crossover EP with Grammy-winning producer Romina Arena. Tanya is also the founder of Tanya Roberts Creative, a boutique design studio for performers and arts organizations, specializing in video editing and web design. She is a proud founding member of the crossover vocal quartet Prosecco. An avid traveler, Tanya has visited 103 countries on all seven continents. Currently, Tanya is writing So You Want to Sing at Sea, a practical guide for singers considering cruise careers, to be published by Bloomsbury in collaboration with the National Association of Teachers of Singing in 2026. A native of Toronto, she currently lives in New York City with her husband, Metropolitan Opera bass Ned Hanlon
