Opera Gala

World-class training and performances

Participants enrolled in Varna International Music Academy (VIMA) will receive in-depth music instruction from our expert faculty and will benefit from unparalleled performance opportunities alongside world-class master artists.

The program will take place along the breathtaking shores of the Black Sea in the City of Varna, Bulgaria & in the beautiful region of Northern Italy.

Participants accepted into the Opera Gala Soloists Program will perform an aria or duet in Opera Gala performances with professional orchestra, conducted by Maestro Gregory Buchalter from The Metropolitan Opera.

The Pearl Fishers (Bizet) (tenor and baritone)
Giovanni: La ci darem la mano (baritone and soprano or mezzo)
Barbiere: Dunque io son (baritone and soprano or mezzo)
Hoffmann: Barcarolle (soprano and mezzo)

Inclusions

  • Be featured as soloist in the orchestral Opera Gala. Sing an aria or duet with professional orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Buchalter from The Metropolitan Opera in concert venues in Northern Italy.
  • All Opera Gala artists sing in the opera chorus and in the Mozart Requiem Chorus
  • Perform in one voice recital - Italian Serenata
  • Two 40-minute voice lessons per week
  • Two 40-minute coachings per week
  • Vocal masterclasses
  • Italian language classes
  • Masterclass in movement, stage techniques, stage combat
  • 26 nights lodging at 4-star hotels in Varna, Bulgaria, and Italy (double occupancy)
  • Half-board (breakfasts and lunch or dinner daily)
  • One-way flight from Varna, Bulgaria to Venice, Italy
  • Ground transportation and airport transfers for group arrivals
