Choral Singers

World-class training and performances

Varna International Music Academy (VIMA) offers rich and versatile choral ensemble training, led by Maestro Gregory Buchalter from the Metropolitan Opera and our Choir Master. Join musicians from across the globe in the beautiful region of Northern Italy to sing in prestigious performances and receive world-class training under the tutelage of VIMA’s internationally renowned faculty.

NOTE: Choral singers are encouraged to apply for featured and supporting roles in VIMA’s fully staged operas or musical theater productions. To be considered for a featured or supporting role, please submit a video audition and resumé along with your application form. Otherwise, only a resumé is required.


Dates & Tuition Information:

DATES: JULY 13 – 31, 2025
(Arrive on June 1, depart on August 1)
TUITION: $1190 PER WEEK (3-WEEK PROGRAM TOTAL: $3570)
**EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: $892 PER WEEK (3-WEEK PROGRAM TOTAL: $2677)**
What's Included:
  • Perform in the Festival Chorus of Petite messe solenelle by Gioachino Rossini under the baton of Maestro Gregory Buchalter from the Metropolitan Opera
  • Perform in the Festival Chorus of Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi under the baton of Maestro Gregory Buchalter from the Metropolitan Opera
  • Perform in the Festival Chorus of A Grand Night for Singing under the baton of Maestro Gregory Buchalter from the Metropolitan Opera
  • One 45-minute voice lesson per week taught by Metropolitan Opera singers
  • Daily ensemble rehearsals with the Choir Master
  • Vocal masterclass with expert voice faculty
  • Masterclasses in choreography, stage techniques, stage combat (if applicable)
  • Italian diction classes

Accommodations:
Participants can choose between making their own lodging arrangements or adding on one of the following hotel options to your overall package.

  • 3-Star Hotel Package: $890 per week (TOTAL COST: $3560)
    • 7-nights lodging in double occupancy
    • Ground transportation from the hotel to the conservatory once daily
    • Ground transportation from the hotel to performances
    • Two meals daily (breakfast & dinner)
  • 4-Star Hotel Package: $1090 per week (TOTAL COST: $4360)
    • 7-nights lodging in double occupancy
    • Ground transportation from the hotel to the conservatory once daily
    • Ground transportation from the hotel to performances
    • Two meals daily (breakfast & dinner)
Tips & Gratuities:
An additional $10 per day will be added to your tuition price to cover all tips & gratuities on provided services & personnel. Air Travel:
Participants are responsible for arranging all air travel. This includes international flights to and from VIMA as well as the domestic flight from Bulgaria to Italy during the program.
