" It is with great pleasure that I welcome and invite you to join us in performing one of the greatest and loveliest choral/orchestral works of the last 80 years: the Requiem by French composer, Maurice Duruflé. Its beauty springs from Duruflé's employment of centuries-old Gregorian chant melodies set in the musical style of French Impressionism. A large orchestra will accompany us, and as we are just part of the greater Muzika Festival, we will be able to enjoy the other exciting performances and acts in the festival as well. This will all take place in Columbia, SC from May 31 to June 6, 2027. Inexpensive accommodations are available in the dorms at Columbia International University, and hotels are nearby for those not 'roughing it.' In addition to the music-making, we will explore historic Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and other areas in this beautiful Southern state, making for a rich cultural experience. As you read the information below, note the very low cost for you and your singers. I hope to see you in South Carolina! "
