What you get

Varna International Music Academy (VIMA) offers a variety of options for the summer Musical Theater Program along the breathtaking shores of The Grand Strand, in Myrtle Beach and Conway, South Carolina. VIMA combines prestigious performance opportunities and world-class training under the tutelage of internationally renowned faculty.

Participants accepted into the Musical Theater Program will perform lead, supporting, and ensemble roles in staged orchestral productions of the musical, Fame!

Our 2022 VIMA participants will be eligible to apply for future Varna International Productions in Europe and the USA.

All VIMA 2022 programs are eligible for academic credit through Coastal Carolina University. For more information, please email our office and we will put you in touch with the university's coordinator.

Inclusions

  • Perform lead, supporting, or ensemble roles in staged orchestral productions of Fame, the Musical during Muzika! The Grand Strand Music Festival
  • Perform in two musical theater recitals (Broadway, light opera arias, ensembles)
  • Comprimario artists sing in the oratorio, opera chorus, and Musical Theater ensembles
  • Four voice lessons and four coaching
  • Vocal masterclasses
  • Italian language classes (optional)
  • Alexander Technique classes
  • Masterclass in movement, stage techniques, stage combat
  • Masterclass in contemporary dance techniques (ballet, jazz, hip hop), acrobatics, and pantomime
  • 29 nights lodging at Coastal Carolina University residences (double occupancy)
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily (7 days a week)
Roles must be memorized upon arrival at the academy.
