What you get

The Varna International Music Academy (VIMA) is offering numerous opportunities for Choral Singers in Summer 2020.

Join choirs from the United States, Europe, and other world regions on the breathtaking coast of the Black Sea for a weeklong celebration of the gift of choral music during the Varna International Music Festival. Or attend VIMA 2020 and enjoy prestigious performance opportunities and world-class training under the tutelage of the Academy’s internationally renowned faculty.

Participation in all tracks is available to singers of all ages.

NOTE: Choral singers are encouraged to apply for featured and supporting roles. To be considered, please send a video submission and resume with your application form.


VARNA INTERNATIONAL CHORAL FESTIVAL “PROFESSOR MARIN CHONEV”

MAY 18-25, 2020 $1390

Inclusions

  • Daily rehearsal time with the Festival Chorus, featuring choral music from various world regions. Choristers should come prepared to sing the Festival repertoire
  • “Meet and greet” with choirs from the USA, Europe and other world regions
  • Masterclasses on a wide range of international choral literature, taught by internationally recognized faculty
  • Public performances of your choir in the City of Varna and surrounding area
  • Participation in a Choral Conducting Workshop Chorus, featuring international choral literature taught by our world-renowned faculty

NOTE: Participants may join other programs within their already paid weeks if does not conflict with their main assignment. Participants may also extend their program for an additional fee.

NOTE: Please be aware that all performances of Tales of Hoffmann and Die Fledermaus will be held at the Stara Zagora Opera House in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. Preparations and rehearsals will begin in Varna. On June 7, 2020 we will move to Stara Zagora for the remainder of the academy.
